History
In 1995, it was the vision of several area families to establish a local, classroom-based
alternative educational program for Christians. The Northern Dauphin County Christian
School Association of parents was formed at that time and continues to elect the
board of directors and works with the administrator of the school. The association
is non-profit under the tax status 501(c)(3). One parent/guardian must be a member
of the association while his/her student attends. This allows direct leadership
opportunities from family members through decision-making, committee involvement,
and volunteerism.
Our Diversity
Churches from throughout Northern Dauphin County are represented in the student
body at NDCS. Our statement of faith is included in each application packet. Local
church involvement is encouraged through prayer, financial assistance is available.
Bussing is provided from four area school districts: Halifax Area, Line Mountain
Area, Millersburg Area, and Upper Dauphin Area.
Curriculum
NDCS utilizes the acclaimed A Beka curriculum, published by Pensacola Christian
College, for grade levels half-day Kindergarten through grade 8. Supplemental materials
are used in areas of special interest: music, art, computer, physical education,
library and weekly chapel services.
