Head of School

Andrew is a graduate of Lancaster Bible College, He earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Bible and Youth Ministry and a teaching certificate from the Evangelical Training Association. Following graduation, he served for five years as a Youth Pastor. After building the church’s student ministry, God called him and his wife to serve as houseparents at the Milton Hershey School. As the students graduated on to high school, his family began a new adventure when God opened countless doors for them to teach internationally in China. At the end of 2020, he completed a Master of Education program in Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Services from Liberty University.

Andrew is married with two daughters and lives in the Millersburg area.

Mrs. BOOK

Elementary Principal

Gina began working at NDCS four years ago after 8 years being a homeschool teacher to her 3 children. She also taught units on Biology, Dissection, Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day, STEM activities, Math, Exploring Countries and Cultures, Art Foundations and Ceramic Art for the Northern Dauphin Homeschool Co-op for Preschool to High School age students. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Chemistry from Lebanon Valley College. She is married to husband, Ted and their family of 2 boys and 1 girl attends Hillside Christian Fellowship in Millersburg and loves watching football, especially the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mrs. MILLER

Secondary Principal

Tammy is joining NDCS with 23 years of public school teaching experience. Tammy was born and raised in Millersburg and resides in the community with her husband, Torrey. She attended Millersville University and graduated with a BS in Music Education. She continued her Master's program at Millersville and earned a Masters in Education K-6. She worked in the Manheim Central School District in Lancaster County for 6 years, Mechanicsburg School District for 1 year, and recently left East Pennsboro Area School District after 16 years. While there, she received her English 7-12 certification. Tammy enjoys reading, helping at church, and spending time with extended family.

Office Secretary

Renee is new to our staff this year. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from Perdue University (formerly known as Kaplan University). In addition to working at NDCS, Renee volunteers with Lifeline Pregnancy Center, serves as a youth ministry leader and worship at her church, and also is a part of the women’s ministry. Her hobbies include cooking/grilling, going on family outings, concerts and plays.

Mrs. hockenberry

Early Education Center Director

Rachel Hockenberry has over 18 years experience working with children in a volunteer capacity. She has experience teaching in a preschool classroom for 8 years. Rachel also served for 2 years as the Lead teacher in our Early Education Center before taking over as the Director. She earned her Preschool Center Based Child Development Associate Certificate in April 2016 and has been working toward a degree in Early Childhood Education at Harrisburg Area Community College. Rachel and her husband Eric are big sports fans and enjoy rooting for their children and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mrs. SAVILLE

Part-time Teacher’s Aide - Early Education Center

Holly Saville has a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University and has over 5 years experience working with children as a pediatric nurse. Holly feels blessed to have been a stay at home Mom the last several years. Recently, she felt the Lord calling her to serve and help with children in a different capacity other than nursing. She is married and has twin daughters that attend NDCS. She leads worship and serves alongside her husband at Miracle Revival Church in Lykens, where he is the pastor. She enjoys baking, singing, playing the piano, and spending time with her family.

Mrs. Spotts

Part-time Teacher’s Aide - Early Education Center

Amanda Spotts is a part-time aide for Mrs. Daley. She has always enjoyed working and interacting with children and has volunteered in different youth centered programs within the area. Amanda also helped in our EEC program this past school year. She has been a stay-at-home mom to her daughter for the last five years and is eager to begin this new venture as an EEC aide at NDCS, and to see what God has in store for her family. In her spare time, Amanda enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, as well as painting, crafting, and exploring the outdoors

Mrs. ENGLISH

Kindergarten Teacher

Sara English is in her 18th year of teaching at NDCS. She attended Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio, majoring in Elementary Education. In 1991, she accepted her first job; teaching 5th grade in Albany, NY where she taught for three and a half years. After moving due to her husband’s job, she taught one year of pre-school in Dumfries, VA, and then two years of high school English in Mechanicsburg, PA. For the next nine years she would be a stay-at-home mom to her three children. When they began to attend NDCS, she enjoyed volunteering and substituting. When a full-time sub position became available in January of 2005, she applied for the position. By the end of that school year she was hired to stay on as a full-time Kindergarten teacher. This is the position she has held since then. In her spare time, Sara loves to read, spend time in her garden, and play piano.

Miss KOPPENHAVER

1st Grade Teacher / Athletic Director

Miss K graduated from Shippensburg University with her teaching certification in Early Childhood Education Prek-4 and Special Education PreK-8, Kelsey felt a call to serve the Lord from a youth gathering in high school. And the final sentence of her bio appropriately shares her heart: “I’m called to fully and unconditionally love God and show that love to others and have chosen to show that love by becoming an educator.” Kelsey is also serving this year as our Athletic Director. Kelsey enjoys hiking, kayaking, and reading.

Mrs. LENKER

2nd Grade Teacher

Whitney has worked in the early education field for over 19 years after graduating from Millersville University. She began her career with NDCS in 2009 as our Early Education Lead Teacher from there she moved in to the Early Education Director position. Currently, she has taken on the role as our second grade teacher in our elementary campus. She loves working at her church in the children and youth ministries, mission trips, being involved in small groups and food preparation for a variety of events at the church. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time outdoors with her family.

Mrs. ISTRE

4th - 6th grade Language Arts & Literature teacher

Gretchen has a Bachelors degree from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, CA. in Liberal Studies. She has experience teaching in 4 different states but has now laid roots in Pennsylvania. She attends David’s church with her husband and three boys. She enjoys volunteering for their Vacation Bible School program and she is a leader in her son’s Cub Scout den. She enjoys running, reading, traveling and driving her kids to their many activities.

Accounting Teacher

Rebecca graduated from the State University of NY College at Fredonia with a Bachelors of Science concentration in Early Childhood Development and a minor in Early Childhood. She has most of her experience working in the bookkeeping and accounting field. She previously taught Algebra at Lighthouse Christian Academy in Columbia, TN. She enjoys spending time with them and her grandchildren, reading, coloring and playing games.

Mrs. EVANS

4th Grade Bible & Literature/Language Teacher

After graduating from Lancaster Bible College, Megan knew her passion for pouring in to the next generation of youth would lead her to teach. Megan began at NDCS as a part time 3rd grade teacher, she took a year off but has returned in a new role as Bible and Literature/Language teacher to 4th graders. She is involved in youth ministry at her home church, David’s CBC where her husband, Danny is Youth Pastor for the past nine years. She has two children who attend NDCS . When she isn’t teaching you can find her enjoying Dunkin’ and a good book and she loves the beach.

Mrs. KLINGER

3rd - 6th Grade Language/Literature & 3rd-4th all subjects

Cathy’s career began with NDCS in 2006 as a Language Arts teacher. She was full-time for two years starting in the 2007 school year and then just did substituting at NDCS. Four years ago Cathy returned in a 3rd grade co-teaching position at NDCS. She is active on the worship team at David’s church and serves as pianist and praise team vocalist. When she isn’t teaching she enjoys baking, riding, bike, and spending time with her grandchildren. Cathy is also responsible for writing the school song, We Come Together.

Mrs. Kerstetter

3rd - 6th Grade Science teacher

Erin is new to our faculty and came with a love for being able to make connections with students. After attending Westminster College and Wilkes University Erin began her teaching career. We are fortunate to have her join our team as our elementary science teacher for grades 3rd through 6th. Erin enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to the Outer Banks, and cheering on the Tar Heels. She is a member of the First United Methodist Church in Millersburg.

Mrs. ZIMMERMAN

5th and 6th Grade Teacher

Upon graduation from Messiah College with a degree in elementary education and concentration in juvenile justice and delinquency, Connie received a master’s degree from Wilkes University in teaching and curriculum. She went on to use those degrees to teach for 5 years in a self-contained 6th grade classroom at Lawton Elementary in the Central Dauphin School District. After those 5 years, she took a break from teaching to raise her 2 children. When a position opened at NDCS she decided to apply for the position. She began teaching their 3rd and 4th grade classroom for 5 years and then transitioned into the 5th and 6th grade classroom, where she has continued to teach for the past 6 years. She enjoys participating in dramas at her church, exercising, reading, crafting, being a mom, hiking and watching her kids sporting events.

Secondary Science Teacher

Andrea graduated from Penn State with Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders, than after she married and had 2 children she went back to Penn State for a second Bachelor’s degree and certification in Elementary education. Over the next few years she worked as a substitute at local schools such as Line Mountain, Upper Dauphin and Millersburg. She began her career at NDCS as a first grade teacher for one year. But then transitioned into the upper grades and has since, mainly taught middle school math and science to grades 5th and above. When she’s not teaching she enjoys reading, hiking, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandson, Jacob.

Miss HACKETT

Secondary English Teacher | Secondary Literature Teacher

Miss Hackett has wanted to be a teacher from the time she was inspired by Mrs. Herb’s love of the English language in seventh grade. Much of her adult life has been about teaching people in some capacity. She has been a Sunday school teacher for as long as she can remember. But, her classroom teaching experience began as a substitute while she was working on her Master’s degree. She visited NDCS in the spring of 2006 and fell completely in love. She knew immediately and without a doubt this was the school where God intended for her teach. She began teaching at NDCS in the 2005-2006 school year and has been here ever since. Filled with a love and passion for great literature and God’s gift of language, she feels blessed to be able to share those subjects with her students. She continues to teach English language arts, literature, speech, and humanities classes to middle and high school grades. In her spare time she enjoys reading and writing, and practicing her flute which she has been playing since the fourth grade. She is thankful that she can share these hobbies with her students and coworkers, too. It has been her immense pleasure watching God work in, and through, the families represented by NDCS. Witnessing by faith of fellow staff members, board members, students, and family members as God has grown NDCS has been of the greatest blessings of her life.

Emily is a 2016 graduate of Northern Dauphin Christian School. After high school she graduated from Belhaven University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and a minor in English Language Teaching. She worked briefly doing some free lance work for the Upper Dauphin Sentinel. When she isn’t working she enjoys reading, writing, and crocheting.
